Who is a Leader ????

A question different people may answer differently.... I have seen lot of people and lot of leaders. One thing is there i never read a book on a good leader...but i do discuss different personalities with my friends. I've been in the professional life for some time now. I am a joined as a team member...moved to a Module lead..then to a Project Leader...then back to a team member to a lead etc... in these 4+ years of my Professional life i have met so many leaders...

A leaders can be top level and middle level managers....A middle level manager is tricky role. He acts as a glue...So times taking a decision is little difficult for him. Whom to support ? your team or your manager ? A tricky situation rite ?

We the Team
From my point a leader should not think that his team is different. He should always think in a team perspective. He should Know his team its capability. Make sure that your team members also thinks same. identify each person in the team.

Different persons will have different behaviors and different skills . Identify them correctly. A person who talks well is not the only criteria for a good leader. He should know the team. The team should know him. Identify the issues you have in the team or people. Classify it to solvable and non solvable issues. Work with the team for the solvable issues. Make sure that you are always approachable by any team members. Give right kind of motivation to team.

How can you say you are always approachable. I will say if your team starts discussing there problems and happiness with you then i will say you are approachable. A leader should always make sure that he has time to spend with his team members.
